Month in Review: February 2023

| Month in Review: February|

I blinked and February was over!

Highlights

February may have been a short month, but it was pretty busy with activity – seeing friends, getting out for hikes, trying new things and having my daughter come home for a visit.

It was so great to connect with friends this month. January we all seemed to be in hibernation mode or people were travelling. This month our friend group was able to connect, and I got out for some coffee meetups and hikes. That was exactly what I needed to break up the winter blues!

My daughter came home for reading break and that is always fun. We went to a paint night, and I am wondering why I haven’t done one before. It was fun, relaxing and my artwork actually looked like a highland cow (which is what I was trying to paint). It was a great night out and I will be doing it again.

Lowlights

The lowlight was a repeat of January, the never-ending winter we have been having. Yes, more cold, more snow and more grey sky. I really don’t want to focus on this too much as this has been one depressing winter.

Best Watch

This caught up on my recordings of the Real Housewives. Although this series isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, I like it!

Travels

We did some staycationing this month. A day trip down to Oliver/Osoyoos resulted in a beautiful walk along the creek and the discovery of the best apple fritters around. The apple fritters at xxx were amazing, they tasted like the apple fritters of my childhood.

No staycation would be complete without some winery touring. My daughter and I stopped at Crown & Thieves for some sips and Frind Winery for some domed dining. Both of these wineries are located in West Kelowna and are open year-round. From the peaky blinders theme and speakeasy inside to the old-world architecture of the exterior, Crown & Thieves is a must-stop.

We had some Instagram moments at Frind Winery where we had lunch in a dome. It was about -5 degrees Celsius outside, but in the domes, with the sun shining, we had to take our coats off. From the food to the views, it was a memorable experience.
